Clinical Documentation Improvement Inaugural Conference 2021
Delegates flew into Christchurch, a vibrant, energetic city filled with cutting-edge architecture and largely a city that’s undergone massive transformation. Arriving for check in at the Crown Plaza in the heart of the city, you could already abundantly feel and see the rich culture, heritage and innovation that made the city so unique.
As the evening approached delegates gathered at the Transitional Cathedral to enjoy the welcoming festivities. Guests marveled at the grandeur of the architecture, sipped on fine wine and were treated to a special appearance by Peter Young who encapsulated the audience with an exclusive documentary screening outlining the story of post-quake Christchurch.
Day two signaled the commencement of the official conference program at the beautiful Christchurch Town Hall. The conference welcome was rich with cultural acknowledgement, passion and set the scene for a day of learning, connecting and developing. As delegates honed in on learnings from a stellar speaker line up, partners relished in the opportunity to travel to the majestic seaside village of Kaikoura. This pretty seaside village did not disappoint as attendees were treated to majestic views, a spectacular whale watching experience and for those seeking an adrenaline rush a swimming encounter with dolphins!
As the conference program closed for the day we welcomed our sponsors to the appreciation dinner at the beautiful Langdale Vineyard Restaurant. Guests were served canapes and beverages on the manicured lawn of the wine garden before setting in to enjoy a three-course menu highlighting local produce and locally crafted wine.
Day three was set to pack a punch! Whilst partners enjoyed a day of leisure, it was an early start to the program for the conference delegation. Greeted by a breakfast station filled with a selection of fresh produce individual smoothies and wellness shots, a perfect way to kick start the day. During the course of the day delegates attended a range of site tours, participated in a collaborative workshop schedule that comprised of 10 segmented offerings and heard from three powerful keynote presenters. With the day concluded and a bucket full of learning, it was time to let the hair down at the Conference Dinner.
We welcomed delegates, partners and sponsors to one of Christchurch’s most impressive spaces, The Christchurch Art Gallery. With a theme “Paint the Town Red” there was no shying away from the fun! As guests entered the dining area, tables illuminated a soft red, flower centerpieces featured variations of red and table menu’s so cleverly designed to suit the theme. With a three-course meal, free flowing beverages and live entertainment guests settled in for an unforgettable evening!
For those seeking refuge from an early start, the final day offered no such thing! Instead delegates were thrust into a captivating Mayfield presentation, a compelling final keynote which encompassed the core takeaways from the conference and treated to a light brunch. As the official program wrapped up delegates said their goodbyes to each other for another year, each wiser, more inspired and more connected then before.
