Arrival Day

Delegates flew across the ditch from many cities and towns afar on the mainland. As the plane began its final decent, you couldn’t help but look in awe at the tumbling hillside, rocky mountains and cottony candy sky as the sun set over the oldest capital city in Australia, Hobart. The Grand Chancellor welcomed us with open arms and delegates settled in at one of their 244 rooms, some lucky enough to secure views of the breathtaking harbor.

Day One

Day one brought with it a feeling of anticipation, as delegate’s collected there registration and congregated over freshly brewed coffee. The conference program was perfectly curated to align with the theme of the conference “Awe & Wonder”. Brenda Hodge from NITA Education, delivered us a powerful Welcome to Country whilst keynote speaker, John Zeckendorf set the tone for the day sharing his inspiring, captivating and remarkable journey through life.

Throughout the course of the day, we grazed on the finest Tasmania produce and churned through endless cups of barista made coffee. As the afternoon dawned on us, delegates walked through the bleak Hobart weather to St David’s Cathedral where the conference Eucharist took place.

Following an actioned packed day, filled of much awe and wonder we celebrated at the historic Hobart Town Hall. The Welcome Reception featured the choir from The Hutchins Schools, whilst delegates, partners and sponsors enjoyed a selection of handpicked wines accompanied by a chefs selection of canapés and excitedly shared their own lessons from the day.

Day Two

The opening of day two left much choice in the hands of delegates. Some chose to enjoy a cup of coffee and hot buffet breakfast at the Tasman Restaurant, whilst others chose to explore the world famous Salamanca Markets even daring to indulge in a scallop pie! Delegates were treated to another impressive speaker line-up including a rapid 7x7x7 session and a cultivating keynote presentation by Claire Madden which provided insight into the factors influencing the wellbeing of Gen Z.

As the official formalities of the conference program came to a close, it was time to dress up, have a dance and celebrate at the much anticipated conference dinner. Guests were hosted at The IXL Atrium at Henry Jones, one of the largest glass atriums in the Southern Hemisphere. Guests enjoyed a drink on arrival and took in the beauty of the brick interior and the soft festoon lighting that blanketed the dining tables. It was the perfect setting to indulge in a three-course meal, whilst sharing stories from the days passed. As the night drew to a close, guests parted ways, eagerly awaiting the next opportunity to join forces again.
